Dr. Christopher Jones is recognized as an authority on the cost of multiple births resulting from in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Educated at the University of Oxford (D.Phil., Medical Sciences; M.Sc., Human Biology) and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (B.Sc., Hons.), his diverse experience in studying the UK IVF population from an economic vantage point leverages a unique and integrative foundation as a health economist. Working as a scholar within the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), he collaborated with a team of experts to develop the health economic sections of several UK NICE guidelines. His doctoral dissertation illustrated robust health economic models that have helped women around the world, by providing guidance for the appropriate number of embryos woman should choose to receive on certain IVF cycles.
Dr. Jones has authored or co-authored scholarly articles that have appeared in the New England Journal of Medicine, British Medical Journal and the International Journal of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (Elsevier). His awards include the Bertarelli Foundation Research Award and the Overseas Research Studentship from the British Government. He has twice spoken in British Parliament and makes regular media headlines and appearances. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. Dr. Jones contributes to several not-for-profit enterprises as well as international journals and review boards. He has been a faculty member at the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health and, at the Center for Study of Multiple Birth, Dr. Jones promotes and oversees international research and collaborations.
